History of "La Vaquita Echá” Restaurant

In September 1979, as is customary each year, we were getting ready to celebrate our Independence Day. We were setting up our own “Fonda” that we called “La Vaquita Echá” (“The Lying Cow”) (Note: “Fonda” is a stand erected in a public party setting. It is part of a temporary fair set up in parks, with food, games, drinking, dancing, and crafts, all to celebrate Chile’s Independence Day). Our dishes and the excellent quality of our service attracted everyone’s attention. That is how its organizers started one of the best known restaurants in Chile, appealing to both Chileans and foreigners alike.

"La Vaquita Echá" Restaurant has become a favorite place for those who visit thanks to its magical country surroundings, excellent wines and outstanding cuisine.
